Keller Williams Concert in the Park

KINGWOOD, TX (December 2012) – The Agents of Keller Williams Realty Northeast have announced that they will move their popular concert series to Kingwood Town Center Park in 2013. The free concerts, which Keller Williams has produced since 2008, will continue on the third Friday of the month February through November from 7-10 p.m.

“Keller Williams is excited about taking our concerts to the next level with the larger venue right in the hub of Kingwood,” said Michael Clapp, general manager of Keller Williams Northeast. “With the Concert in the Park, we will have the same great, family-friendly entertainment and focus on a charity as in the past, except at a new location.”

Kingwood Town Center Park features a permanent, elevated stage for the performers and nearly twenty-thousand square-feet of lawn for audience seating. “Every spot in the Park has a straight-on view of the stage, where concert goers can set out their lawn chairs and coolers to enjoy an evening of live music,” notes Clapp. “There’s no bad seat in the house.”

The re-named Keller Williams Concert in the Park has already garnered much community support and attention. Kings Crossing Community Association, which manages Town Center Park, has signed a two-year contract with Keller Williams to present the concerts. Locally-owned and operated businesses K’s Motorsports, Insperity, Alspaugh’s Ace Hardware, Texan GMC and The Kingwood Monthly have stepped up to partner with Keller Williams to sponsor the monthly concerts.

KCCA has made recent improvements to the infrastructure of the Park insuring that the timing is right to launch the Keller Williams concerts at the facility. “Over the past few years, we have made a significant investment in the Park,” states KCCA Director Tony Austin. “This included the re-grading and re-planting of the three major grassy areas to provide better views of the stage and improved drainage. In addition, the trees in the Park were pruned to allow the grassed areas to extend to the sidewalks.” Other work included the upgrading of the electrical system to provide better-quality sound and lighting systems for special events. The agents at Keller Williams see the concerts as a way to draw attention to these improvements and the Town Center area, which rivals that of other master-planned developments in the Houston area. Clapp points out that the concerts are “an opportunity for us to promote the amenities of living in this area while at the same time spotlighting our local musical talent and non-profit organizations.”

The Concert in the Park series will open on February 15 with a performance by Kingwood-native Gary Kyle and the No Standards Band. The guest charity will be the American Heart Association Houston. The non-profit organization will hold a fund-raising raffle with prizes donated by area merchants. Tickets are $1 or 6 for $5. Appearing in Kingwood to kick off the rodeo season, the band will play its unique brand of country music, self described as a collection of “feel good make you wanna cry, make you wanna dance, down-home Texas Country as eclectic and rich in character as the Lone Star state itself.”

Several songs written and performed by Kyle have hit the Top 25 on the Texas Music Chart, including “Late Night Runaround” and “Turn this Life Around.” He recently released his third album “Texas Strong” and will debut several singles off of his new project starting in early 2013.
