Spring Break Fun in Houston

Most school districts in the Greater Houston area, including Humble ISD will have their annual Spring Break from March 12-16, 2012.  For families who will stay close (or for those who are traveling to Houston), here is a fabulous list of ideas on how you can spend your break!

Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo

This event, which started back in 1932, is already open and runs daily through March 18, 2012.  A wildly popular family event with a carnival, livestock show, rodeo and nightly concerts from some of the biggest names in music!  If you haven’t been before, you will want to make your way to Reliant Park to get in on the action and fun.

Houston Zoo

The Houston Zoo is a 55-acre park located within Hermann Park.  Housing over 6,000 animals belonging to over 900 species, the zoo receives 1.6 million visitors each year and is the seventh most visited zoo in the nation.  Within Hermann Park you can also sit next to the reflection pond and enjoy a nice Spring afternoon, or even take a ride in a pedal boat.  Across the street is the Houston Museum of Natural Science and the Butterfly museum as well.  Many things to do in that area!
