Since the weather is finally cooling off a bit, we are all looking for opportunities to spend some time outdoors! October also means pumpkin decorating and other Halloween crafts. There are lots of opportunities for family fun in the Kingwood and Humble area, plus a few for mini roadtrips.
First United Methodist Church in Humble has a daily pumpkin patch and craft fair through October 31st. It’s largely community oriented and has a range of activities, including pumpkin patch, crafts, story time, and discovery time where they do pumpkin trivia, painting, etc.
Old Macdonald’s Farm has a pumpkin patch open daily (10am – 4pm weekdays, 10am – 6pm weekends). That info is not on their website, so I called. Admission is $6 and they have a variety of activities form petting zoos to barn swings and swimming pools. This is southeast Texas. It’s still hot enough for swimming!
Old Time Christmas Tree Farm in Spring offers more than fancy firs to spruce up the start of the holidays – they have a great pumpkin patch as well. Plus they have hay rides, train rides, an obstacle course and other activities.
Oil Ranch in Hockley is a personal favorite. It’s also furthest from the Kingwood/Humble area (unfortunately), but it’s loaded with mega fun for the entire family. Plus, each child gets a free pumpkin with admission.
