This summer Keller Williams Realty Northeast and Kings Harbor Waterfront Village will extend their successful concert series by adding four additional Thursday night events to the schedule. The Summer Nights at the Harbor will be held June 10, July 1, Aug. 5 and Sept. 2 from 6-9 p.m.
Designed to provide entertainment the whole family can enjoy, the free Summer Nights concerts will include music, the plaza fountain and a clown providing balloon animals and face painting.
“The community has been so supportive of the Friday night concerts that we have been putting on since October 2008,” says Lisa Dempsey, Keller Williams Northeast senior team leader. “We’ve decided to expand on the fun this summer with an event geared toward families with younger children. We hope this will get more people out to the Harbor to enjoy the restaurants and the beautiful waterside location.”
The Wayne King Show will be the featured entertainment for the first date in the series: June 10. King is a tribute artist who focuses on some of the classic hits of the great artists of all time like Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin and Roy Orbison.
A native of England, King’s career has spanned more than 20 years. He has performed along side Gary Puckett and the Union Gap, ‘60s sensation Roy Head and the band Herman Hermits.
King will change into three different costumes that night. His energetic ‘50s Doo-Wop songs are sure to have kids and parents alike dancing the night away.
As with the Friday night concerts, a special charity guest will be highlighted at the Summer Nights event. In June, the Lake Houston Family YMCA will take the stage to preview their upcoming summer programs and announce their fund raising events.
Additional sponsors of the Summer Nights series are the Kings Harbor restaurants: Chimichurri’s, Zammitti’s, Raffa’s, the Wine Loft and Sharky’s. Kings Harbor is at 1660 West Lake Houston Pkwy. in Kingwood between Kingwood Dr. and FM 1960.
