The classic rock band Doghouse will perform at the free Keller Williams Concert at Kings Harbor in Kingwood on Friday, April 20 from 7-10 p.m. The band is being presented by the Agents at Keller Williams Realty Northeast and sponsored by Texan GMC. Opening the show will be Kingwood’s Got Talent Contest winner Good Timing from 6-7 p.m.
Doghouse band members Bob Jablonski, Mark Rocka and brothers Jeff and Jim Monk will play hits with a wide appeal from the ‘60s to the ‘90s. “Each of us comes from a different genre background,” notes band leader Rocka, “that brings tremendous variety to our sets and we can truly play something that each and every audience member can connect with.”
A typical Doghouse show starts off with an Elvis song and wraps up with an ‘80s “hair band” song from the likes of Motley Crue or Bon Jovi. To vary the sets, the Kingwood-based musicians can throw in some old and modern country songs. “Depending on the crowd,” adds Rocka, “I’ll even play Somewhere Over the Rainbow on the ukulele.”
The opening act Good Timing is a rock and blues band comprised of high school students from Kingwood who have been together for three years. Band members are: Victor Gonzales, keyboards/drums; Sam Johnston, bass guitar; Austin Jennings, lead guitar/drums; Jackie Courchene, violin; Campbell Roper, vocals/guitar; and Clayton Hill, drums/guitar.
The concert’s guest charity the American Heart Association will hold a fund-raising raffle from 6-9 p.m. with prizes from the Kings Harbor tenants. Raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5. Keller Williams will provide a Kidz Korner tent at the concert with children’s activities.
