Nashville-based Christian recording artist Christi Harper will perform at the free Keller Williams concert series at Kings Harbor on Fri., June 18 from 7-10 p.m. She will be accompanied by the Houston area Christian band Pierced Grip.
“It will be a fantastic, family-friendly night of popular favorites, original songs and some fun cover tunes,” says Harper, who grew up in Kingwood and is looking forward to singing for her hometown crowd.
Harper will sing a mix of songs off her debut CD “Hear” released last fall and contemporary hits including those by Avalon, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Miley Cyrus. A special “We are the World” rendition is planned with singers from area churches. The musical sets have been designed to appeal to all generations
The concert’s charity guest will be the Blue Star Moms who will be collecting pairs of new socks and individual flavor packets for bottled water for U.S. military deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan . There will be a tribute to U.S. Marine Brandon Bury, a 2002 Kingwood High School graduate, who was recently killed in Afghanistan .
Kings Harbor is at 1660 West Lake Houston Pkwy. in Kingwood between Kingwood Dr. and FM 1960. Concert goers are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on and enjoy the live music by the lake.
