Bert Brocker and Texan GMC: Committed to Community Support

Bert Brocker, Head Coach of Texan GMC in Humble, is 100% committed to the community.  After having sponsored the 2011 Humble Rodeo and BBQ Cook-Off, Brocker knew he had to get even more involved.

“Just seeing the looks on the kids’ and teacher’s faces when we visit schools is so rewarding.  Their excitement when we present the fundraising checks makes it all worth it!” says Brocker.

During the 2010 BBQ Cook-Off, over $100,000 was raised, and all proceeds were used by the Humble ISD Education Foundation to fund innovative classroom projects, teacher and staff development programs and grants to enhance curriculum and technology within the Humble Independent School District. The goal of the foundation is to support programs and initiatives that fall outside the scope of the normal operating budget.

The event – celebrating its 10th Anniversary – will be even bigger and better in 2012.

February 3rd-4th – The BBQ Cook-Off

With over 65 teams participating, the BBQ Cook-Off is already a big event. Even better in 2012, every person who purchases a ticket to the BBQ will get a complete Texas BBQ meal.  So in the event you can’t get an invitation to one of the booths, you still get to eat!  There will also be free entertainment, a petting zoo, carnival rides and games.

February 10th -11th – The Rodeo and Livestock Show

This year’s weekend features performances from Pat Greene and Kevin Fowler, with 7 rodeo events and a livestock show featuring the Humble ISD Texas 4-H and FFA members.

“Texan GMC feels honored and fortunate to be a title sponsor for the Humble Rodeo and BBQ, and look forward to many years working together to make this a successful fundraising event that 100% supports our area schools,” says Brocker.
