Keller Williams Realty Northeast Houston agents know how hard it can be to keep your home clean and show-worthy when you’ve got a house full of kids or work out of the home or are just too busy living life to worry about how spic and span your house is. We’ve come up with a few time crunch tips that can help you out whether you’ve got a spur of the moment house showing, a friend dropping by, or only five minutes to spare.
Keller Williams Time Crunch Tips:
1. Get your Christmas shopping done yet? If not, no worries. Online shopping can make your Christmas list a breeze, saving you time and, in a lot of cases, money!
2. Want to stay healthy through the holiday season, but having a hard time with all the holiday office goodies? Try this. Pack a week’s worth of salads Sunday night. Start with your greens, then layer veggies, fruit, protein (like beans, meat, fish). Pop the lid on, repeat five times and done! Make sure to pack your dressing in a small container separately to keep you salads crisp all week. Going to the effort on Sunday night not only saves you time all week long, but also ensures you’ll want to choose your perfect, pre-packed salad over the sugar-filled treat at work.
3. Last minute guests? Try the fake cleaning method and take your home from crazy mess to neat and clean in twenty minutes. (1) Hide the mess – use storage bins to stuff the clutter in and cover with a cute, folded blanket. Hide mail in a decorative box or drawer. Throw larger items into rooms your guests won’t go into, like the master bedroom or laundry room. (2) Do a spot check of the floors and pick up the bigger items like lint, string, etc so you don’t have to vacuum. (3) Spritz some Febreeze around the house. (4) Straighten bathroom hand towels. (5) Straighten up couch pillows, blankets, dining chairs. (6) Clean off and wipe down your countertops. And there you go. twenty minutes to a fake clean house, just in time for unexpected guests!
