Lake Houston Chapter of the American Heart Association Announces 2012 Heart Walk

The Lake Houston Chapter of the American Heart Association is excited to announce plans for the 2012 Greater Lake Houston Heart Walk, which takes place on Saturday, November 10 at Lone Star College in Kingwood.

“We were pleased to have over 1,000 participants and raise $75,000 during Heart Walk event in 2011.  We hope event participation grows and we have set a new fundraising goal of $85,000 for 2012.  Many people don’t realize that cardiovascular disease is the #1 killer of Americans, and we hope the event can not only serve as an important fundraising opportunity, but also as a channel to raise awareness,” says 2012 Event Chairman Dr. Raymond Little of Houston Heart & Vascular Associates

Sponsored nationally by Subway and locally by Memorial Hermann Northeast, the 5k walk is free and open to all participants.

“While registration is free, we encourage individuals to fundraise.  And we provide online and offline tools to help.  In addition to the presenting sponsorship we have formed with Memorial Hermann Northeast, we also offer additional sponsorship opportunities,” says Morgan Dean, Corporate Market Director, Greater Lake Houston Division.
