Indoor Maintenance for Houston Homes:

  1. Time to spray for those indoor pests. June is prime flea and all around bug season in Houston. To keep your home bug free, spray the baseboards down in your home. You can either do this yourself, or hire a professional. Also, look into all natural products to reduce the amount of chemicals introduced into your home.
  2. Grout. The bane of cleaning. However, we found a great site that tells you how to attack that grout, clean it, and win the grout cleaning battle. With the heat of summer on us, this is a great maintenance item to do in the A/C. You can even make it fun – listen to an audio book or a new album while cleaning.
  3. Clean out the pantry. Check the expiration dates. Take everything off the shelves and dust and disinfect. An easy way to expand the storage room in your pantry!

Outdoor Maintenance for Houston Homes:

  1. Check for blistering or chipped paint on your home. June is a great month to do those touch ups and keep your exterior home looking as cool as your interior is!
  2. Consider making custom plywood storm windows for your home in case of a hurricane this season. Simply measure the windows you want to cover and cut the plywood to size. Don’t forget to mark which board goes to what window! Doing so now will help protect your home for years to come from hurricanes. Make sure to buy window clips ahead of time as this item quickly goes out of stock when a hurricane is announced in the gulf.
  3. Spray the perimeter of your home to discourage outdoor bugs and pests from becoming indoor house guests. You can DIY or hire a professional.
